Charles Lee Porter 93, of Twin Falls Idaho passed from this life on Sunday January 11th. at McKay Dee hospital in Ogden, Utah.
Charles was born on January 2, 1933, in Littlefield, Texas, the first of three children born to Jack David Porter and Richard Albion Taylor Porter. The family moved from the panhandle of Texas to California when Charles was in 7th grade. Charles joined the National Guard at 14 and was reassigned to the Army when the Korean Conflict began. Charles married his sweet Betty on a Sunday evening and was deployed to Camp Cook on Tuesday.
Following his service Charles and Betty made their home in southern California and raised 3 children Michael, Bob and Beckie. Charles, Betty and Beckie moved to Twin Falls, Idaho in 1974 and soon Charles decided to pursue a career in Chiropractic. Upon graduation he and Betty ran Blue Lakes Chiropractic until their retirement in 2004. Together they enjoyed their home and yard on the edge of the Snake River Canyon. Debating politics and encouraging education with his children and grandchildren was his favorite pastime. His grandchildren and great grandchildren lovingly referred to him as Popie.
Charles is survived by 2 children, Robert Jack (Sharon) Porter of Somerton AZ. and Rebecca Suzzann (Harlo) Clark of Oakley ID. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Dawn Garner, his parents, Jack and Albion Porter, 2 sisters Sylvia Jo Flood and Patricia Ann Gifford, son Michael David Porter and grandson Porter Harlo Clark.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2026, at the Oakley Stake Center in Oakley. Burial will follow in the Oakley Cemetery. Friends are invited to gather from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. Monday at the church prior to the funeral. A webcast of the services will be available and maintained on the website. Services are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home, located on the Burley, Rupert highway.
