Kenneth L Uptain passed away on March 3, 2026, at his care facility in Burley Idaho. He was born, the middle of 11 children to Owen and Sarah Uptain on May 26, 1933, in Cliff, New Mexico.

In his younger years the family settled in Mesa Arizona. There he met the love of his life, Beverly Burnham. Ken and Bev were married in the Mesa LDS Temple on January 12, 1953. Their marriage lasted 71 years, until Bev passed in September 2024.

Ken is survived by his 7 children. Patricia A Hicks of Oakley ID, Kenneth L Uptain and his wife Elaine of Bellevue WA, Terry L Rodgers of East Wenatchee WA, Owen R Uptain and his wife Linda of Emmitt ID, Jill A Parsons and her husband Keith of Elk Ridge UT, Scott Uptain and his husband Robert of East Wenatchee WA, Leslie D Mills and her husband Gordon of Edgar MT. Ken served in the Army from 1953-1954. Ken and Bev were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Ken and his family lived in Arizona, Oregon, and most of the second half of his life in Washington State.

Some of the biggest joys of Ken’s life came from his passions, hunting, fishing, and camping with family and friends. He was a builder and carpenter and loved to ‘figure things out’. He also passed many of those skills and passions on with others in his family.

Ken was a great storyteller, and spent countless hours sitting around a campfire, or a dinner table sharing stories of his long and wonderful life.

A viewing for friends and family will be held from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at the Stevens Funeral Chapel, 511 South 7th Avenue, Othello, WA with graveside services following at 2:30 p.m. at the Bess Hampton Memorial Gardens.
