William J. “Bill” Grant, age 68, of Rupert,Idaho passed away at his home on June 2.
Bill was born on February 12, 1958 in Rupert to George O. and Ellen Grant. He was a son,
brother, father, grandfather and friend whose life was marked by both hardship and love. Like
many people, he faced struggles that were difficult to overcome, including personal battles that
affected him deeply.
Those struggles were part of his story, but they were not the whole of who he was.
Those who knew Bill will remember his kind heart, love of music and riding his Harley. Beneath
the pain and challenges he carried, there was a person who mattered deeply and who was loved.
His life reminds us that every person is more than their battles, and that compassion, forgiveness,
and understanding are gifts we can offer one another.
Bill is survived by his daughter Chantel Grant and grandson Jordan Gilbert, siblings Leonard
Grant and Michaelene (Dan) Rowe and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by
brothers, George R Grant, Timothy L Grant, Dan Grant, infant brother Gregory Allen Grant as
well as his parents, George and Ellen.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at a later date to share in the hope that Bill is now
at peace.
