Charles D. Osterhout of Declo gloriously returned to his Father in Heaven surrounded by his family February 1, 2016. He was born December 8, 1955 to Devon and Betty Osterhout in Burley Idaho. He was the 4th of 8 children and although from an early age tempted fate, whether it be by avoiding leg amputation from osteomyelitis or being run over by a tractor, he always had a smile on his face. He attended school in Declo where he took great pride in being a part of the football and wrestling teams. Upon graduating he worked full time as a welder; later opening his own business. In 1981 he found his one true love and best friend Marla Jenks, they became an eternal family in September of that year and began a life full of love. Although a welder by trade he was a man of many talents, each of which he was one of best and loved to teach by example. With 6 kids in tow he taught them to work hard and to never give up. Chuck and Marla would always be found together, some of their most cherished times were spent driving side by side, with no specific destination, just a cab full of love and an unknown road ahead. His love for Declo was known by all, and it will never know a greater fan. He led a life full of service and he knew no stranger. If ever in need Chuck would be there to help, and he still will be. He is greatly missed by all who came in contact with him and will never be forgotten. He is survived by his wife Marla Jenks Osterhout; and their 5 children Kathy Osterhout of Jackson, Id., Tami (Scott) Robinson of Burley, Id., Kristy (Sonny) Ochoa of Rupert, Id., Jeremy ( Lacie) Osterhout of Rigby, Id., and Dustin ( Valarie) Osterhout of Declo, Id.; 7 grandsons and 5 granddaughters. Also survived by siblings, John ( Cathy) Osterhout, Tim ( Nina) Osterhout, Kerry ( Loretta) Osterhout, Connie ( Tony) Myrdahl, Juli ( Clay) Meline, Shawna ( Mike) Buttars, and Brent ( Faye) Osterhout. He was preceded in death by his son Derek, and parents Devon and Betty. The family would like to thank the community for it's gracious help and support. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 5, 2016 at the Declo Stake Center, 213 West Main Street in Declo. Burial will follow in the Declo Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at the Morrison Funeral Home, 188 South Hwy 24 in Rupert and from 10:00 am until 10:45 am at the church prior to the funeral on Friday.
