Charles Dean Sanderson, 59, died February 11, 2017 in Burley Idaho in a fatal accident while driving himself to the ER for an asthma attack. Charles was born on September 24, 1957 in Nampa Idaho. He was the second child of Donald Neilson and LaVina Pearl Ingram. He was later adopted by William Sanderson. Charles spent his childhood in Nampa and Declo. After high school, he was in the Tongue Point Job Corps till his graduation in 1978. In 1979, he started his lifelong career of 37 years at Ore-Ida/McCains. He was qualified and able to run many equipment there. He delighted in teasing and tormenting his fellow coworkers. They say people with messy desks have creative minds. That's Charles to a T. He loved doing gardening and canning his harvest as well as sharing his bounty with his friends and neighbors. Charles loved to hand quilt. He started out by helping Grandma Pearl making quilts for the family, spending many hours in her basement. He continued his talent on his own, earning Best of Show at the county fair. He also love to crochet afghans. He was thrilled when his original creations won a ribbon. He would then donate his afghans to the women's shelter and family auctions. Charles loved to go fishing, he often went with his friends at McCains. He was a avid supporter of the Ingram Family Reunions. You knew where he was camping because he was the one with the biggest canopy. He was famous for his humorous but quirky T-shirts. One he delighted in wearing was "If you shake my family tree, a bunch of nuts will fall out!". Even if he called us nuts, Charles was devoted to his mother and sister, Corinne, often dropping everything to help them. One of his post on Facebook, "My greatest treasure is, was and always will be my family! We may not be perfect, but I love them with all my heart." Charles is preceded in death by his mother and fathers, his brothers, William Dale and Bert, and his grandparents, Bert and Pearl Ingram. He is survived by his brother Roger (Brenda) Sanderson, sisters, Corinne Martin, Kathy (LeRoy) Dunford, Christene (Kevin) Young, Carolyn Sally Neilson, Monica (Bob) Neilson Hackenberg, and many nieces and nephews. Corrine and family, I am so very very sorry for your loss. I Worked with Charles at the plant. Charles was an very wonderful friend. He made beautiful afghans and was very proud of them. He was an avid fan of nascar were he and I would bet on who would win. He was always a Jimmy Johnson fan. He was a very hard worker and did love harassing everyone. He will be truly missed by his friends but more so by his family. May you find peace in knowing he is in a better place no longer in pain and in the company of your beloved past family.

I am so sorry to see you pass on. I know aunt Lavina has missed you and glad to have you back. My fondest memory of you is when my grandma died. I was sitting my by her grave after they lowered her casket and you came and sat by me while I cried and placed your arms around me and just held me. I love you dearly for that. I will miss hearing your voice at the family reunions.

You were always the kind soul taking care of everyone behind the scenes… without anyone knowing. Say hi to Aunt LaVina… and my mom! And the rest of the clan.

Dear Corrine, I send you my sympathy and prayers on the passing of your beloved brother. I don't know if you remember me or not. We went to elementary school together. I would come to your house to play after school when you lived a block from the old Miller school. I learned to ride a bike on Charles' little bike.
May you and your loved ones find peace at this time of loss.

Charles was a very dear friend of mine. I would give him rides to work when he needed one. He was there for me when my mother passed away right before his own mother. I remember him telling me " now I know exactly how you feel Rheta". I was a lucky recipient of a special afghan he made for me as a wedding gift. I will miss seeing his new creations. I will truly miss him.
