George Thomas Watson Jr. of Rupert Idaho passed away July 28, 2017. He was born on January 26, 1936 to George and Lavenna Watson. George was raised in Pocatello Idaho and later moved to Burley Idaho where he met and married Maxine Fenstermaker. George worked all his life in recycling for McCarty's inc. and later Pacific Steel. He spent a lot of time as a child with his father working in the scrap yard at McCarty's in Pocatello. He began working there full time at the age of 14. He managed the Burley branch which was later bought by Pacific Steel and recycling where he continued working for over 24 years. George was very friendly and was well known and liked in the Mini-Cassia area. As a child he loved to ride his horse. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He spent a lot of time with his wife and family hunting fishing and camping. Their grandchildren have many fond memories of camping and fishing trips with grandpa and grandma. In later years he and Maxine enjoyed working together in their beautiful yard and garden. George is survived by his wife of 62 years Maxine, 3 sons George (Sheri), Gene (Janiene), Steve (Aundrea), 6 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 sisters Arlene Boyce and Barbara Shell. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Joyce Stewart and brother Bobby Bunting. Dad, we will miss your sense of humor and constant teasing. The laughter and sparkle in your eyes, and the sweet love you always showed toward mom. Thank you for all that you taught us. George requested no services so a public celebration of his life will be held at a later date at their home in Rupert Idaho.
