Lois Hansen, 87 of Meridian, passed away at Grace Assisted Living in Meridian on September 8, 2014. Lois was born on February 11, 1927, along with her twin brother Morris in a little farm house on McMillian and Ten Mile Road near Meridian. Her parents were J. Bryan Rambo and Barbara Young Rambo. She attended Upper Fairview and Blue Valley grade schools and Meridian High School. She was employed at Westcott Oil Company in Boise until a young gentleman from Burley came along and swept her off her feet. She married Raymond Hansen on October 14, 1951, at the first Christian Church in Meridian and moved to Burley. They were married 53 years. In 1955 they adopted their son Kevin. Besides being a devoted housewife and devoted mom to Kevin, she was a member of the Burley First Christian Church, Sunday school teacher and Women’s Fellowship leader. She was president of Pink Ladies at the Burley Hospital, worked at elections and took census one year. The highlight for anyone driving past her home was the array of flower beds and gardens and planters with every color imaginable. She was also an avid quilter equaling the colors in her yard. January 2010 Lois returned to Meridian to be close to family. Lois is survived by her sister Janis Rambo and her sister-in-law Dixie Rambo of Meridian; several nieces and nephews and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray in 2004 and son, Kevin in 1987 in Burley; her brother Morris; her parents Bryan and Barbara Rambo of Meridian. Special thanks go to Grace Assisted Living and Memory Care and Legacy Hospice of Meridian. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the Morrison Payne Funeral Home, 321 East Main Street in Burley, burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
