Jesus DeLuna, 93 of Rupert, Idaho, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2019. 

 

Jesus was born the 7th child to Jose Maria DeLuna and Josefa Salinas in Piedras Negras, Coahilla, Mexico on August 6th, 1925.   He married Juanita Esquivel on June 15, 1945.  They raised six children Balvina, Armando, Arnulfo, Elida, Victor and Agustin.  In 1980, Jesus moved his family to Rupert, Idaho and worked for Ross Hunsaker  and Devon Hunsaker for several years until he retired in 1990. 

 

He is survived by his children Armando(Lidia), Arnulfo(Bertha), Elida(Blas)Martinez, Victor(Michelle),  Agustin(Michelle), one brother Juan, and over 75 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his wife Juana, his daughter Balvina, a granddaughter Magdalena, grandson Sean Ramirez, his brothers Jose Maria, Pablo, Victor, Gonzalo, Aurelio, sisters Guadalupe, Virginia, Josefina, Adelina and Esperidona.

 

Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 2, 2019 at the Little Flower Catholic Church in Burley, Idaho. Padre Mark Uhlenkott of the Little Flower Catholic Church will be officiating.  A viewing will be held the night before at 5:00-6:30 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Rupert, Idaho followed by a Rosary at  7:00 p.m. at the church on Thursday,  August 1, 2019. Burial will follow the funeral at the Rupert Cemetery. 

 

The family of Jesus would like to thank Countryside Care for his care during his time living there.  Funeral arrangement are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home, 188 South Hwy 24 in Rupert.
