Pamela Mae (Grace) Simcoe, 66, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away on August 25, 2023 at her home peacefully surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and so much love.

Pamela was born March 08, 1957, in Pocatello, Idaho to Don and Virginia Grace, and had three sisters, Charlene, Angie, and Trish. Along with the original Grace sisters, mom grew up with her acquired siblings Bette, Alison, and Rodney, as the Grace family always believed it wasn’t just blood that made you family.

Pamela attended Green Acres Elementary, Alameda Jr. High and Highland High School, graduating in 1975. While she was at Highland, she was a member of the Lassie’s drill team, and made many friendships that have stayed with her throughout the years. She worked a variety of jobs during her early years from babysitting, to cleaning hotels, and then eventually found a love for selling insurance when she started working alongside her mother Virginia at Farmers Insurance in Pocatello.

While in Pocatello Pamela met and later married Mike Simcoe. They moved to Declo, Idaho where they started and raised their small family. They had three children Desny, Sarah, and Michael. They later divorced, but still maintained a positive relationship for their children and families. Pam started her insurance career in the Mini Cassia area at Rupert Abstract, and then moved to Starley Leavitt Insurance where she worked for over 30 years until her retirement in 2023. She loved all of her coworkers and clients, and truly enjoyed her job.

One of the most important parts of Pam’s life was her faith. She was a faithful member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Rupert, Idaho where she was very involved. She loved helping out at Church no matter what it was; giving readings during Sunday services, bringing food for coffee hour, decorating the altar, filling eggs for the Easter egg hunt that the children loved- all of it was important to her, no matter how big or small. She also served the church by being the church treasurer for 20+ years.

There were many activities Pam loved and participated in. She was on a bowling league for many years, and loved to pass on tips to her children and grandchildren. Pam was a member of a card group for the past 35+ years; a group of fantastic ladies that she got together with once a month for food, friendship, and a good game of Pinochle- they probably did more visiting than actual card playing. One thing Pam loved was going all out for Halloween; it was so fun to watch as she and her coworkers tried to win the annual Starley Leavitt interoffice competition each year. She was very creative and always came up with best costumes. By far the thing mom loved most was spending time with her children and grandchildren and supporting them in all their activities. She went to every graduation, from preschool to college, every dance recital, 4-h showing, talent show, basketball game, gymnastics recital, baseball game, that she could- and she was the proudest mom/grandma out there. It brought her so much joy to spend time with her grandchildren, and she had a special bond with each of them.

Pam is survived by her children Desny (Chad) McGraw, Sarah (David) Clark, Michael (Mikayla) Simcoe, her 9  grandchildren Grace, Cooper, Emma, Ellie, Clara, Luke, Amya, Cash, and Sophie, her sisters Charline (Carl) Tanaka, Angie (Ian) Ishiyama, Bette (Tyler) Johnson, Alison (Melvin) Teshima, brother Rodney Jones, her family through marriage Steve (Tammy) Simcoe, Marsha Radi, Lonnie (David Holbrook) Simcoe, beloved mother-in-law Janet Simcoe, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved and adored.

She is preceded in death by her parents Don and Virginia Grace, Marshall Simcoe, and Yoko Davis, her sister Patricia Grace, her nephew Chad Ishiyama, her grandparents, and her aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 1, 2023 at The First Christian Praise Chapel, 1110 Eight St in Rupert, Idaho, with Reverend Rand Fagg officiating, with a luncheon to directly follow.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home, 188 South Hwy 24 in Rupert.
