Amalia Vega, born Amalia Martinez, passed away on December 30, 2023, at the age of 67 in Burley, Idaho. She was born on October 9, 1956, in McAllen, Texas. Amalia, known affectionately as Maya, was a vibrant and caring individual who brought laughter and joy to everyone she encountered. Her love and support for her family and friends were unparalleled, and her selflessness was evident in her willingness to help others.

Amalia is survived by her three children, Santiago Sanchez (daughter-in-law Patricia Sanchez), Jose A. Sanchez (daughter-in-law Irene Sanchez), and Enrique A. Vega. She also leaves behind fifteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and four siblings, Maria Concepcion Lopez, Alicia Martinez Castro, Angelita Martinez, and Alfonso Martinez. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Arturo P. Martinez and Graciana Ramos Martinez, as well as her siblings Maria Luisa Caro, Arturo Martinez Jr., and Anna Maria Farias.

A viewing will be held on Monday, January 8^th, from 5pm to 7pm at Morrison Funeral Home in Rupert, Idaho. Morrison Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Amalia’s passing.

Maya’s legacy of love, laughter, and caring will forever be cherished by those who knew her.  She will be deeply missed by her family, and friends, and all whose lives she touched.  Her memories will forever be cherished treasures to her 3 children Santis, Jose, and Kike. (HOLLAND 4 Ever Mom)
