Theodora Jaquline (Jacky) Helms Gochnour

Jacky was born September 13, 1932, to Theordore Jackson Helms and Alice Mae Groves Helms in Burley, ID. She was the 15th of their children. Jacky went to school at the Marion school until it closed. She then moved to the Oakley schools and graduated as Valedictorian
of her class. She went on to college at the Albion Normal School for teachers. After her first year the school was closed.

In 1956, Jacky met Jerald L. Gochnour and after dating they decided to make it official. They were married on December 18th, 1957, in Burley, ID. They were married until Jerry’s passing. Together they had 6 children: Bill, Tom, Samual, Jerry, Craig & Anne.
Jacky lived for her children. Time passed and then she was blessed with her daughters, Cindy, Connie, Leslie, Bonnie and a new son, Merl. Jacky lost her son Sam in 1985, and it broke her heart. But with that heart break, she was blessed with a bunch of grandchildren
who helped her heal and love again. Years later, she lost another son, Craig and that too broke her heart. Then she lost her husband Jerry. After losing Jerry, she sold the farm and moved closer to town where she resided with her daughter and son-in-law.
They all three took care of each other until the day she passed.

Jacky passed peacefully at the Portnuef Hospital in Pocatello, ID. Great Thanks to the Minidoka Memorial Hospital staff, Portnuef Hospital Staff, Dr. Brian Muir and his staff and Dr. & Mrs. Walaliyadda and their staff for the amazing care she had at the very
end and throughout her life.

She is proceeded in death by her parents: Theodore J. Helms & Alice M. Helms, siblings: Rosie Mignon, Theodore Austin, Truman Jackson, Alice May, Ella Mina, Thomas Fredrick, Hazel Ruth, Robert Andrew, Stowe Ward, Ray Burton Issac, Grant Bidwell, Alfred Laurance,
Dorthey Irene & Edyth Virgina, bonus brother Forest Helms, Gloria Helms Dixon, her two sons: Samual & Craig and husband Jerald L. Gochnour.

She is survived by her children: Bill (Cindy), Tom (Leslie), Jerry (Bonny) & Anne (Merl). Her grandchildren: Kaicie (Kody), Wayne (Marie), Eric (Michelle), Kristal (Bob), Zandra (Nick), Annie, Taharie, Kyle (Ashley), Kellie (Kody), Brandon, Chris, Joshua, Kayla
& Trevor. Her bonus kids: Jim (Maxie) Gunderson & Gina Hooley Cartwright, Bonus grandchildren: Katie, Stacey, Emily, Josh, Jamie, Kayloni & Jeff. And countless great-grandchildren. She loved all so much.

Memorial Services will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 6:00pm at Morrison Funeral Home, 188 South Hwy 24 in Rupert, ID. Urn placement will take place at the Pleasant View Cemetery next to her husband at a later date.
