Glenda Kay was born on 7/10/1946 in Dallas, Texas to Robert Mathis and Viola Hickman and was called home to Our Lord and Savior on 10/03/2025 in Pocatello, Idaho.

She is predeceased by her parents Robert Mathis and Viola Hickman, and stepfather Billy Travis, her brother Henry Morris and her infant daughter Donna Jane Llewelyn.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Richard Llewelyn, her daughter, Mary Miller and husband, Stuart all of Paul Idaho, her grandson, Michael Reese and fiancé’ Brittni Alpine of Paramount, California. In addition, she leaves behind nephew Steven VanIngen and his wife, Michele, niece, Alysson Llewelyn, and her son Orion Arndt, nephew Christoper Morris, niece Danielle Morris and her family and nephew Spencer Morris and his family. She has cousins and their families still living in Texas that she held dear to her heart, Darrel Collins and his family, David Hickman and his family, Mary Jane Cozad and her family.

Glenda has many lifelong friends that still live in California, and some that have moved away to other states. These friends and their families have always been extended family of Glenda, Richard and Mary. The Halls, McCulloughs, Wrights, Blums, Pecks, Zillioxes, Schulers, McCleans, Ferstadts, Steinbachs, Steighs and others.

Glenda retired from Kaiser Permanente in Harbor City, California, after 30 years of service. She continued as president of the Kaiser Retiree Group, where she was responsible for organizing field trips, holiday luncheons and monthly board meetings. She went on to work as a business representative for the SEIU, Local 399, where she managed employment contracts and served on the negotiating committee.

After living in Southern California for more than 50 years, Richard, Glenda, Mary and Stuart moved to Paul, Idaho in October 2021. Since moving to Idaho, Glenda has touched many lives. As a member of Grace Church in Rupert, Idaho, she was very involved with Samaritans Purse, Operation Christmas Child and attended the OCC International Convention in Florida in 2022 with her OCC sisters in Christ. Glenda was always ready to help with other outreach and activities at Grace Church.

Over Glenda’s many years on this earth, she loved Jesus with all her heart and the one thing that you would know just from speaking with her, after Jesus, her family was the most important thing in her life. Glenda loved deeply and touched the lives of everyone she encountered. She truly cared about everyone and never met a stranger.
