Judy Rae Kimber Barnedt Weeks, age 70, of Paul, Idaho, formerly of Burley, Idaho, California, and Grouse Creek, Utah, passed away at home with family on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, after a valiant battle with cancer. Judy was born on Sept. 20, 1943, to Raymond and Wilda (Frost) Kimber. She grew up on a ranch in Grouse Creek, enjoying a childhood known to few. She attended the Grouse Creek School until completing the 10th grade, which was the highest grade offered at that school. For her junior and senior years, she attended Bear River High School in Tremonton. Judy served in the Northern California Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and in the years following she served in a variety of church positions wherever she lived. In 1968 Judy married Bob Barnedt whom she met while working at the Strevell Cafe and to this union three children were welcomed - "Bob" Robert Dean Barnedt II, Robin Lynne Barnedt, and Scott Raymond Barnedt. After Bob and Judy were divorced, Judy moved back to Grouse Creek with her boys. After moving to Burley in 1981, Judy worked at Burger King. It was in Burley where she met and eventually married Dennis Glade Weeks on May 25, 1984. He had children, she had children and together they had Tarisa Mari Weeks and Steven Jared Weeks. After living about ten years in California, they moved back to Idaho. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple for time and eternity and have been married for 30 years. Judy's family was her priority and she loved doing things with them whether it was preparing a meal with us, doing scrapbooking, playing games or just visiting. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter (Robin), two stepsons (Brian and Daryl), and one sister(Betty). She is survived by her husband, Dennis Weeks, and their combined family - (Cathy) Weeks, Tyla Alvarado, Phillip Weeks, Leslie (Kevin) Coggins, Lorin Weeks, Bob Barnedt II, Scott (Sabrina) Barnedt, Tarisa Weeks, and Steven Weeks. She was blessed with 19 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also her siblings Ray (Sharon) Kimber, David (Betty) Kimber, Sharon Kimber, and Elden (JoAnn) Kimber, and a bonus sibling Dawna Kimber. The funeral will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Grouse Creek LDS Church, with President Jay Tanner officiating. A family gathering will be held before the funeral from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Grouse Creek Cemetery. We would like to express our gratitude for the wonderful care provided by the nurses and aids at Intermountain Homecare Hospice, and for the support from Gary Breitweiser. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to the Primary Children's Hospital, the St. Luke's Cancer Center in Twin Falls, Idaho, or a charity of your choice.
