Danny C. Shaw, age 73, passed away in Heyburn, Idaho, on June 17, 2025, after a long illness. He was surrounded by his wife, two daughters, and favorite cat, Koji.
Danny was born on March 9, 1952, in Ontario, Oregon, to John David Shaw and Mabel Dorothy Killpack (Lambeth). The family later moved to Deer Lodge, Montana, for a few years. After his parents divorced, Danny and his brothers moved with their mother to Idaho. They settled in Jerome, and Danny graduated from Jerome High School in 1972. After graduating, Danny married the love of his life, Marcia L. Schlund, on December 9, 1972. The couple had two daughters and settled in Twin Falls, ID, where they lived for many years. While raising his daughters, Danny worked primarily as a butcher for Falls Brand for almost 30 years. He also worked for 10 years at Blue Lakes Trout Farm.
Danny enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing with his family. He also enjoyed riding four-wheelers with his family in the mountains and exploring everything that nature has to offer. He loved old western movies and television shows. He loved animals and enjoyed the cats and dogs he had during his life. He especially loved spending time with his “grand doggies” and “grand kitties” as he traveled between Utah and Idaho to spend time at his daughters’ homes after retirement.
Danny will be remembered as a very kind and generous person who had a heart of gold underneath his rough exterior. He believed in working hard and doing things the right way with honesty and integrity. Despite losing his father at a young age, enduring a devastating car wreck in 1993, and two open heart surgeries, Danny was always willing to lend a helping hand.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and younger brother, Steve Killpack. He is survived by his two older brothers, Stan (Myla) Shaw and J.D. Shaw; beloved wife, Marcia; daughters Stacy (Randy) Fager of St. George, UT, and Kristy J. Shaw of Heyburn, ID; and four grandchildren as well as his beloved grand dogs and kitties.
“When a great man dies, for years the light he leaves behind him, lies on the paths of men.”
– Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Condolences:
Dear Kristy, Stacy, Marcia, and Family,
On behalf of all who knew and respected Danny, please accept my deepest condolences for your profound loss. Danny was not only a devoted husband and father, but also a constructive pillar of Idaho and a proud contributor to the greater story of the United States. His unwavering work ethic—spanning over 40 years—stands as a testament to his character and his commitment to both his family and his community. While most people may dedicate 25 or 30 years to their careers, Danny went above and beyond, working tirelessly and selflessly to provide for those he loved. Through his achievements—building a home, raising a loving family, and overcoming life’s challenges—Danny embodied the values that define the American spirit: resilience, dedication, and hope. The road accident your family endured two decades ago was an unimaginable hardship, yet you all faced it with remarkable strength and unity. I have always admired how you supported each other through adversity, a true reflection of the enduring bonds that make families—and our nation—strong. Danny’s life was rich with love and meaning. He was fortunate to share his days with a wonderful wife, Marcia, and two devoted daughters, Kristy and Stacy. The care and compassion you showed him, especially in his final moments, is a powerful reminder of the love that surrounded him every day. I feel privileged to have witnessed such devotion and to have shared in those moments with you. Though we grieve his passing, we can find comfort in knowing that Danny’s legacy lives on—in the values he instilled, the memories he created, and the family he cherished. He is at peace now, and I am confident he is watching over you with pride and happiness from above. Please know that you are not alone in your sorrow. Your strength inspires all who know you, and Danny’s memory will always be a blessing to those whose lives he touched. With heartfelt sympathy and respect. Behn Ramezani
Your the best dad I could ever ask for and was so broken when you left I wish I could of been with you when you left but you know I had our animals to take care of and proud to provide a nice home for all of use. IN MY PRAYERS ALWAYS I LOVE YOU ,YOUR SON. Allen Fager
My dad was one of a kind. He was filled with so much strength, love and courage. Dad would always work hard and lived in a very respectful manner. He worked for everything in life nothing was ever handed to him. Dad provided lessons through stories he would tell about his childhood growing up. These stories were not always pleasant, but this did not compromise his ability to be the best farther in the world. He was full of love and encouragement when you needed it. Dad was full of courage with everything that was thrown at him he would fight back. Dad always made things look easy, but the older you get you realize it is not. I Love You Dad Keep an eye on us from above and lead us into the right direction. Stacy Fager
