St. George, Utah - Our sweet father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and devoted friend J. Allen “Duff” Woodhouse, age 89, passed away on April 12, 2024, in St. George, Utah. He was born on April 9, 1935, in Burley, Idaho to parents Mary Ruth Elison and Trafford Varley Woodhouse. He was married to Reta Renae Fehlman on November 4, 1960.

Duff was raised in Oakley, Idaho and was the oldest of four children. He graduated from Oakley High School and was the Student Body President. He then attended BYU for a year before going into the military Army division. He served in Germany and some of his fondest friends and memories were made there. He returned to Oakley from the military to pursue farming with his father. He married Renae and they had four children. Duff was fiercely loyal and was a man of integrity. His word was as good as his signature. He also was extremely patriotic and proud to have served his country. Duff was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. He had a love of dogs and has owned 27 of them during his lifetime. He loved sports and played basketball, tennis, and pickleball. He took up running in his forties and became an avid runner, winning many races in his division. He continued running until he was seventy-nine. He then continued to walk two to five miles a week. Two days before his passing he walked his dog Charlie for two miles. Duff loved his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed.

Duff is survived by his children: Holly (Kevin) DeMass, Zan (Taylor) Frederickson, Cory (Amy) Woodhouse, and Missy Woodhouse; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his two brothers: Kent (Diane) Woodhouse, and Kirk (Ann) Woodhouse; and sister, Karen (Harold) Greene.

An open house will be held at the Oakley Stake Center Relief Society Room on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Urn burial will follow it the Oakley Cemetery.
